  • 2 Cups brown sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tsp. vanilla
  • 3 Tbsp. melted butter or margarine
  • 4 Cups sifted flour
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 Cup chopped nuts
  • 2 Cups sour milk

Directions

    Beat eggs until light, add brown sugar and continue beating until light with rotary beater or mixer.

    Add vanilla and melted butter.

    Mix thoroughly.

    Sift together the dry ingredients and add alternately with sour milk.

    Add chopped nuts with the last addition of flour.

    Pour into 2 9 X 5 inch loaf pans, greased lightly and floured.

    Bake for 45 minutes at 350.
