- 1 1/2 c. brown sugar
- 1 1/2 c. water
- 4 Tbsp. flour
- 1/8 tsp. salt
- 3 eggs, separated
- 2 Tbsp. butter
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1 (9-inch) baked pie shell
Directions

1Heat brown sugar and 1 1/4 cups water to boiling point.

2Mix together flour, salt and 1/4 cup water; add to the syrup, stirring constantly.

3Cook in a double boiler until thick.

4Add beaten egg yolks, butter and vanilla.

5Cook 2 minutes longer.

6Cool and pour into baked pie shell.
