- 1/2 c. white sugar
- 1/4 c. flour
- 3 eggs, separated
- 2 c. milk
- 2 Tbsp. butter
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 3 large Tbsp. marshmallow cream
- boiling water
- 1 (8 or 9-inch) pie shell, baked
Directions

1Burn 1/2 cup white sugar in heavy iron skillet.

2Add boiling water.

3When sugar is amber color (do not scorch), let it cook down to a syrup and no lumps.

4In same skillet, add milk, flour and eggs that have been mixed together.

5Cook until thickened, stirring constantly.

6If too thick, add more milk.

7Add butter and vanilla.

8Beat egg whites until stiff.

9Add marshmallow cream. Bake at 350° until meringue is browned, about 15 minutes at 350°.
