Buttery Cream Cheese Icing

  • 2 sticks Butter, Softened
  • 2 Tablespoons Granulated Sugar
  • 8 ounces, weight Cream Cheese, Softened
  • 2 pounds Powdered Sugar
  • 2 Tablespoons Lemon Juice

    Use a hand mixer or a stand mixer with a whisk attachment for best results.

    In a mixing bowl, beat butter and granulated sugar together until creamy.

    Add in cream cheese and beat until smooth.

    In 1/4 to 1/2 cup increments, sift powdered sugar into the butter/cream cheese mixture. After each addition, beat until smooth. Repeat until all of the sugar is incorporated.

    Beat in lemon juice, 1 tablespoon at a time.

    Frost your dessert immediately, or store covered in the refrigerator. Beat chilled icing briefly before use.
