Ingredients
- 1 head cabbage, shredded
- 1 onion, chopped
- 6 tsp. margarine
- 1 can cream of mushroom soup
- 8 oz. American cheese
- salt and pepper to taste
- 1/4 c. dry bread crumbs
Directions

1Cook cabbage in boiling salted water until tender; drain thoroughly.

2In a large skillet, saute onion in 5 tablespoons of butter until tender.

3Add soup and mix well.

4Add cheese; heat and stir until melted.

5Remove from the heat.

6Stir in cabbage, salt and pepper.

7Pour in 2-quart baking dish.

8Cook and stir crumbs in butter in small skillet until browned.

9Sprinkle over casserole.

10Bake, uncovered, at 350° for 20 to 30 minutes.
