  • 1 medium head cabbage, shredded
  • 2 grated carrots
  • 1 medium onion, sliced thin or minced
  • 1 green or red pepper, minced (optional)
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 3/4 c. cider vinegar
  • 1/4 c. water
  • 1 tsp. each: salt, celery seed and dry mustard
  • 5 Tbsp. oil

Directions

    Heat together sugar, cider vinegar, water and spices.

    Simmer 5 minutes.

    Pour over vegetables.

    Stir in 5 tablespoons oil. This will keep 2 to 4 weeks in refrigerator.
