  • 2 lb. pork sausage
  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1/2 loaf whole wheat bread, toasted
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 medium onion
  • salt, pepper, allspice and nutmeg to taste
  • leaf cabbage

    Select a large loose leaf head of cabbage, wash and take apart keeping whole.

    Keep the small center for the heart of the loaf. Parboil cabbage leaves in salt water a few minutes until it wilts. Drain in colander.
