Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 lb. hamburger
  • 2 Tbsp. chopped onion
  • 1 whole egg
  • 2 tsp. minced garlic
  • 1/4 c. uncooked rice
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. pepper
  • 1 can tomato sauce
  • 1 Tbsp. vinegar
  • 2 Tbsp. brown sugar
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 head cabbage

Directions

    Mix meat, onion, egg, garlic, rice, salt and pepper in bowl. Separate cabbage leaves and lay in pan of boiling watar to soften.

    Lift out leaves.

    Fill with a ball of meat mixture.

    Roll cabbage around meat and fasten with toothpicks.

    Place in pot. Add remaining ingredients.

    Cover well with water.

    Bring to a boil, then turn down heat and simmer about 2 hours.
