- 1 lb. lean ground beef
- 1 c. cooked white rice
- 1 small onion, chopped
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/4 tsp. black pepper
- 1 egg
- cabbage leaves
- vegetable oil
- 2 (8 oz.) cans tomato sauce
- 1/4 c. water
Directions

1Mix ground beef, cooked rice, chopped onion, salt and pepper and egg together.

2(Trim off thickest part of stem from cabbage leaves.)

3Divide meat into equal portions, meat balls if you desire.

4Wrap each in a leaf, fasten with wooden toothpicks.

5Brown cabbage rolls slightly in oil.

6Add tomato sauce and water to pan. Cook slowly for about 40 minutes.
