Ingredients

  • 12 large cabbage leaves
  • 1 c. cooked rice
  • 1 beaten egg
  • 1/4 c. milk
  • 1/4 c. finely chopped onion
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. pepper
  • 1 lb. lean ground beef
  • 1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
  • 1/4 c. water
  • 1 Tbsp. brown sugar
  • 1 Tbsp. lemon juice
  • 1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce

Directions

    Immerse cabbage leaves in boiling water about 3 minutes until limp.

    Drain.

    Place about 1/4 cup mixture of rice, egg, milk, onion, salt, pepper and ground beef in center of each cabbage leaf.

    Fold in sides and roll ends over meat.

    Place in slow cooker (crock-pot if desired).

    Combine rest of ingredients and pour over cabbage rolls.

    Cover and cook on low 7 to 9 hours.
