Ingredients

  • red or regular cabbage
  • 1 lb. ground chuck, browned
  • 1/3 c. chopped onion
  • 1 beaten egg
  • salt and pepper
  • 1 small can tomato sauce
  • 1 c. water
  • 2 Tbsp. brown sugar
  • 2 Tbsp. vinegar

Directions

    Steam or pan boil either red or regular cabbage leaves.

    Stuff with mixture of ground chuck, onion, egg, salt and pepper.

    Roll up cabbage leaf and secure with toothpick.
  4. 4
    Brown in hot grease. After rolls are brown, add to skillet the remaining ingredients. Cover and simmer for 1 hour or slide into a 350° oven until cabbage is tender, about 45 minutes.
