- 12 large cabbage leaves
- Boiling water
- 1-1/2 lb. ground beef
- 2 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. pepper
- 1 cup cooked rice
- 1/2 tsp. poultry seasoning
- 1 small onion, chopped fine
- 1 egg
- 2 Tbsp. oil
- 2 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
- 1 Tbsp. brown sugar
- 1/4 cup water
- 1 Tbsp. lemon juice
Directions

1Place cabbage leaves in a container and cover with boiling water.

2Let stand for 5 minutes.

3Combine ground beef, salt, pepper, rice, poultry seasoning, onion and egg.

4Mix well. Cut center stem from cabbage leaf and place 1/12 of beef mixture into center of each leaf.

5Roll up and secure with a toothpick. Heat oil in a large pot and brown each cabbage roll.

6Mix tomato sauce, brown sugar, water and lemon juice and pour over cabbage rolls. Simmer on low heat for 1 hr.
