Ingredients

  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1 c. chopped onion
  • 1/2 c. chopped green pepper
  • 1 c. diced carrots
  • 28 oz. can tomatoes or 4 c. tomato juice
  • 2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. paprika
  • 2 c. shredded cabbage
  • 1 Tbsp. cooking oil
  • 1/2 c. chopped celery
  • 2 c. diced potatoes
  • 14 oz. can pork and beans
  • 4 c. hot water
  • 1/4 tsp. pepper
  • dash of rosemary and cumin

Directions

    Brown ground beef, onion, celery and green pepper in oil. Drain off excess fat.

    Combine all ingredients in large pot. Bring to boil, then reduce heat to simmer and continue until cabbage is tender.

    Usually an hour is sufficient.
