Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 lb. ground beef
  • 4 to 5 stalks celery, diced
  • 1/2 medium onion, diced
  • clove of fresh garlic
  • 1/2 to 1 Tbsp. chili powder
  • 1 (28 oz.) can tomatoes, diced
  • 2 bouillon cubes
  • 2 c. water
  • 1 can kidney beans
  • 1 (15 oz.) can tomato sauce
  • 1/2 head cabbage (or as much as pan will hold)
  • salt

Directions

    Brown first four ingredients in large, heavy Dutch oven. Drain grease and add remaining ingredients, except cabbage. Bring to a boil.

    Reduce heat and simmer for 2 hours, adding cabbage last 1/2 hour of cooking time.
