Ingredients

  • 1 c. chopped celery
  • 1 c. chopped onion
  • 1 medium head cabbage, chopped
  • 8 c. water
  • 2 beef bouillon cubes
  • 1 Tbsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. pepper
  • 1 1/2 lb. ground round, browned and drained
  • 2 (15 oz.) cans tomato sauce
  • 1 Tbsp. brown sugar
  • 1/4 c. ketchup

Directions

    In large pot, cook celery, onion and cabbage in water until tender.

    Add bouillon, salt, pepper, beef and tomato sauce.

    Bring to boil.

    Reduce heat and simmer 10 minutes.

    Stir in brown sugar and ketchup.

    Simmer 10 minutes longer.

    Makes 5 quarts.
