- 1/3 to 1/2 lb. bacon
- 2 lb. round steak, cut into strips
- 3 onions, sliced
- 6 to 8 carrots, sliced
- 6 to 8 potatoes, sliced
- 1 c. water
- salt and pepper
Directions

1Layer bottom of pot with bacon.

2Add layer of round steak; salt and pepper.

3Add layer of onions and layer of sliced carrots; salt and pepper.

4Add layer of sliced potatoes; salt and pepper. Add water; cover and cook slowly for about 1 hour on stove, longer on campfire.

5To serve, do not stir.

6Cut through the layers and dish up.
