- 2 c. sugar
- 2/3 c. light corn syrup
- 1 c. water
- 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
- red food coloring
Directions

1Wash apples, dry and remove stems. Insert wooden sticks firmly in stem ends.

2Blend sugar, corn syrup and water in medium-size saucepan.

3Cover; bring slowly to boiling.

4Uncover; boil rapidly, without stirring, until 1 teaspoon of syrup separates into hard, brittle threads in cold water (300° on candy thermometer).

5Remove from heat.

6Add flavoring and coloring to tint bright red.

7Dip in apples; reheat over very low heat, if syrup thickens.
