Ingredients

  • 2/3 c. sugar
  • 1/2 c. margarine
  • 1/4 c. white Karo syrup
  • 1/2 tsp. vanilla
  • pinch of salt
  • nuts (optional)
  • 2 c. cane sugar
  • 1/2 c. hot water
  • 1/8 tsp. cream of tartar
  • 1 Tbsp. margarine
  • 1 tsp. baking soda

Directions

    Bring sugar, water and cream of tartar to boil, covered.

    Boil 5 minutes.

    Remove from heat and add margarine and baking soda. Pour over popcorn and stir thoroughly.

    Must be cane sugar or it will just crumble up and not stick to the popcorn.
