- 1 c. sugar
- 2 c. water
- apples, peeled, cored and quartered
- 1 Tbsp. salt per each qt. water
Directions

1Make a thin syrup with the sugar and water.

2Put quartered apples into weak brine (1 tablespoon salt to each quart of water) until ready.

3Drain and drop into boiling syrup.

4Cook until transparent (3 to 5 minutes).

5Pack into clean, hot glass jars; fill to overflowing with hot syrup.

6Seal at once.
