- 1 1/3 c. flour
- 1 Tbsp. shortening
- pinch of salt
- 1/2 tsp. sugar
- wine (sweet or dry) or water
Directions

1Mix flour, shortening, salt and sugar.

2Add enough wine (can use water if desired) to make a stiff, but workable, dough.

3Roll into a ball and let stand 1 hour.

4Roll out dough 1/8-inch thick. Cut into 5-inch squares and wrap the dough around a short cannoli tube so that the opposite corners meet.

5Fry in deep fat one at a time until golden brown.
