- 1 c. butter, softened
- 3 c. flour (plain)
- 2 c. sugar
- 2 tsp. baking powder
- 4 eggs, separated
- 1 tsp. vanilla

1Cream butter and sugar well.

2Add egg yolks.

3Sift flour and baking powder together.

4Beat egg whites until stiff.

5Alternate flour and milk into creamed mixture.

6Add vanilla.

7Fold in egg whites.

8Bake in two (9-inch) pans.

9Bake at 350° for 25 to 30 minutes or until golden brown.
