  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1 stick butter
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 (14 oz.) can condensed milk
  • 1 c. nuts, chopped

Directions

    Melt sugar and butter over low heat until caramelized to a golden brown.

    Add salt and milk; stir constantly until a hard ball can be formed in water.

    Add nuts and vanilla.

    Beat until cool.

    Pour into pan and let stand in refrigerator at least 30 minutes before cutting.

    Yields about 20 (1-inch) squares.
