  • 3 qt. popped corn
  • 1 c. white sugar
  • 1 tsp. vinegar
  • 1 tsp. butter
  • 1/2 c. syrup (Mrs. Butterworth)
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. soda

Directions

    Mix syrup, sugar, vinegar, salt and butter in a 2-quart saucepan, stirring constantly.

    Bring mixture to a boil over a medium heat.

    Boil gently until mixture reaches hard crack stage in water or 290° on candy thermometer.

    Add soda and mix well. Pour foamy mixture over popped corn and stir well.
