- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/2 c. light corn syrup
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 1/2 lb. margarine
- 1/4 tsp. cream of tartar
- 6 qt. popped popcorn (12 c.)
- dry roasted peanuts (optional)
Directions

1In 2 1/2-quart saucepan, combine sugar, corn syrup, butter, cream of tartar and salt.

2Heat to boiling, stirring constantly, to hard boil stage (about 5 minutes).

3Remove from heat.

4Stir in baking soda quickly, but thoroughly.
