Ingredients

  • 3 pots popped corn
  • 2 sticks oleo
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. soda
  • 2 c. brown sugar
  • 1/2 c. white corn syrup
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • nuts (optional)

Directions

    Put corn in large pan.

    Boil sugar, oleo, syrup, salt and vanilla together for 5 minutes; add soda.

    Stir quickly; pour over popcorn and stir to coat.

    Put on 2 large cookie sheets and bake in a 250° oven for 35 minutes.

    Stir often while baking.

    You may add peanuts, pecans or walnuts, if you like.

    Preheat nuts in oven while popping corn and cooking syrup, especially if you are keeping nuts in the freezer.
