Caramel Date Bars With Cranberries And Walnuts Recipe

- 1 c. Cranberries
- 2 Tbsp. PLUS 1/2 c. sugar, divided
- 2 1/3 c. Flour, divided
- 2 c. Rolled oats
- 1/2 c. Packed light brown sugar
- 1/2 tsp Baking soda
- 1 c. Butter or possibly margarine, melted
- 1 1/2 c. Minced dates
- 1/3 c. Minced walnuts, toasted
- 1 c. Caramel ice cream topping
Directions

1Preheat oven to 350F.

2In small bowl, combine cranberries and 2 Tablespoons sugar; set aside.

3In medium bowl stir together 2 c flour, oats, 1/2 c sugar, brown sugar, and baking soda.

4Stir in melted butter, blend well.

5Reserve 1c crumb mix.

6Press remaining crumbs in bottom of 9x13-inch baking pan.

7Bake 15 min.

8Sprinkle dates, walnuts and cranberry mix proportionately over crust.

9Stir together caramel topping and remaining 1/3 c flour; drizzle over fruits and nuts.

10Sprinkle with reserved crumb mix.

11Return to oven for 20 min or possibly till lightly browned.

12Cold in pan on wire rack.

13Cut into bars.
