- 2 c. sugar
- 1/2 c. light corn syrup
- 1/2 c. water (for divinity)
- 2 egg whites
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1/2 c. finely chopped red and green candied cherries
- 1 pkg. (14 oz.) caramels
- 1 Tbsp. water (for caramel)
- 1 can (6 oz.) chopped pecans
Directions

1Combine sugar, corn syrup and water in a medium-size heavy saucepan.

2Heat quickly to boiling, stirring constantly.

3Wrap a fork with damp paper toweling and wipe the sugar crystals from side of pan as the mixture cooks.

4Reduce heat to medium and cook without stirring to 260° on a candy thermometer.

5(A spoonful of syrup will form a hard ball when dropped in cold water.)
