- 1 can (16 oz) pear slices in natural juice, drained
- 3/4 cup self-rising flour
- 1/3 cup firmly packed brown sugar
- 2 tbsp butter, melted
- 1/3 cup milk
- 1/3 cup pecans, coarsely chopped
- None None Powdered sugar, for dusting
- None None Whipped cream or ice cream, to serve
- None None FOR THE CARAMEL SAUCE
- 1/2 cup firmly packed brown sugar
- 3 tbsp butter, chopped
Directions

1Preheat the oven to 350°F. Grease 4 shallow 1 1/4-cup baking dishes. Place on a baking pan.

2Divide the pear slices among the dishes.

3Combine the flour, brown sugar, milk and butter in a medium bowl. Spread the mixture evenly over the pear slices. Sprinkle with nuts.

4For the caramel sauce, stir brown sugar, butter and 3/4 cup boiling water in a medium bowl until the sugar is dissolved and the butter is melted. Pour the sauce slowly over the back of a spoon onto the mixture of the dishes.

5Bake about 25 mins or until firm. Dust with sifted powdered sugar. Serve immediately with whipped cream or ice cream, if desired.
