- 2/3 c. popcorn kernels
- 1 c. packed brown sugar
- 1/4 c. light corn syrup
- 1 stick butter or margarine
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. baking soda
Directions

1Pop the corn and place in 2 (9 x 13-inch) pans, greased.

2In saucepan, heat sugar, syrup, butter and salt until bubbling around the edge.

3Heat 5 more minutes, stirring occasionally.

4Take off heat and stir in baking soda until thick and foamy.

5Pour over popcorn.

6Bake at 200° for 1 hour, mixing every 15 minutes. Becomes less sticky as it cools.

7Clean up is simple.

8I sometimes add plain peanuts.

9Good also on apples.

10Place apples on wax paper after dipping into caramel sauce.
