  • 1 batch (approximately 3 qt.) popcorn, popped
  • 1 stick margarine (not low-fat or butter)
  • 1 1/2 c. brown sugar
  • 1/3 c. corn syrup (maple syrup may be substituted)

Directions

    Melt margarine or butter in saucepan.

    Add brown sugar and corn syrup.

    Boil to 238° or soft ball stage (mixture forms a soft ball when dropped into glass of cold water and scooped out with a fork), approximately 16 minutes.

    Pour over popped corn.

    Stir until every kernel is coated.
  6. 6
    Sometimes I add salted peanuts along with popcorn for Cracker Jacks.
