- 3 tablespoons butter
- 6 onions, thinly sliced
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1 tablespoon fresh thyme
- salt and pepper
- 1 teaspoon balsamic vinegar
- 32 crostini, slices
- 8 ounces swiss cheese, shredded
Directions

1In a large skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add onions and cook, stirring, until softened. Stir in sugar and cook, stirring, until onions are browned, about 25 minutes.

2Stir in thyme, salt, pepper and vinegar. Remove from heat.

3Preheat broiler. Spread crostini liberally with onion and sprinkle with cheese. Place under broiler until cheese is melted.
