Caramelized Onions

  • 1-1/2 Tablespoon Unsalted Butter
  • 2 Tablespoons Water
  • 2 cups Thinly Sliced Vidalia, Or Other Sweet Onions
  • 1/4 teaspoons Kosher Salt
  • 1/8 teaspoons Black Pepper

Directions

    1. Place a 10-inch skillet over medium-low heat, allowing pan time to warm.

    2. Add butter, water, onions, salt and pepper into the skillet. Heat and stir until butter melts.

    3. Continue to cook over medium-low heat, stirring periodically, until onions are deep golden brown and very tender. This should take about 25 minutes total.

    4. Serve immediately with grilled meats, sausage, hot dogs, hamburgers, over warmed brie or goat cheese or just about anything.
