- 2 c. sugar
- 2 c. white Karo syrup
- few grains salt
- 1/2 c. butter
- 2 c. whipping cream (do not whip)
- 1 tsp. vanilla
Directions

1Mix sugar, syrup and salt together to 245° (candy thermometer) or until mixture is very thick.

2Add butter until melts.

3Add milk gradually to mixture, keeping mixture boiling at all times.

4Stir constantly.

5Cook rapidly to 242° or until a few drops form a firm ball when dropped in cold water.

6The mixture will be very thick and sticks easily.

7Remove from heat.

8Add vanilla and pour into greased 9-inch square pan.

9Cool thoroughly before cutting.

10Wrap each piece in waxed paper.

11Makes 7 dozen pieces.
