  • 2 c. Great Northern beans
  • 1 c. water
  • 6 c. chicken broth
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 2 celery with leaves, chopped
  • 2 Tbsp. chopped parsley
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1/2 tsp. thyme
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. pepper
  • 3 pork chops, browned
  • 10 chicken thighs
  • 1/2 lb. kielbasa

    Soak beans overnight, then drain.

    Put beans, water, broth and all spices, onion and garlic in pot.

    Simmer 1 hour, then add pork chops and chicken; cook until done.

    Add sausage about 30 minutes before done.

    Long, slow cooking brings a better flavor.
