  • 2 to 3 lb. catfish, cut up
  • 2 qt. cold water
  • 1 sliced onion
  • 1 chopped stalk celery
  • salt and pepper
  • 1 bay leaf
  • little parsley
  • pinch of thyme
  • 1 c. milk
  • 2 Tbsp. butter

Directions

    Put all ingredients, except the milk and butter, in a kettle or stewpan.

    Cook over low heat until the meat falls apart.

    Add milk and butter.

    Bring to a boil.
