- 2 to 3 lb. catfish, cut up
- 2 qt. cold water
- 1 sliced onion
- 1 chopped stalk celery
- salt and pepper
- 1 bay leaf
- little parsley
- pinch of thyme
- 1 c. milk
- 2 Tbsp. butter
Directions

1Put all ingredients, except the milk and butter, in a kettle or stewpan.

2Cook over low heat until the meat falls apart.

3Add milk and butter.

4Bring to a boil.

5Serve hot.
