- 1/2 lb. ground beef
- 1/2 lb. ground pork
- 3 slices bacon, diced
- 1/2 c. diced mushrooms
- 1 onion, chopped
- 1 (16 oz.) can Italian-style peeled tomatoes
- 1 bay leaf
- 1/4 tsp. garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp. dried basil
- 1 tsp. salt
- pepper to taste
- 1 (6 oz.) can tomato paste
- cooked pasta
- Parmesan cheese
Directions

1In a large skillet, brown ground beef, pork, bacon, mushrooms and onion.

2Add tomatoes, bay leaf, garlic, basil, salt and pepper.

3Simmer 1 hour, adding water, if necessary.

4Add tomato paste and simmer an additional 15 minutes.

5Remove bay leaf.

6Pour sauce over cooked pasta and top with grated Parmesan cheese.

7This is best if prepared the day before, refrigerated overnight and heated up the next day.
