Celery Casserole

  • 2 c. chopped celery
  • 1 can water chestnuts
  • 1 can cream of chicken soup
  • 1 stick margarine
  • 1 (4 oz.) can mushrooms (stems and pieces)
  • 32 Ritz or Hi-Ho crackers
  • 1 pkg. slivered almonds

Directions

    Cook chopped celery 7 minutes in boiling water and drain. Melt butter in skillet with almonds until brown.

    Crush crackers very fine.

    Mix with almonds and butter.

    Mix celery, water chestnuts, soup and mushrooms together.

    Put in casserole dish. Don't grease.

    Sprinkle cracker mixture over top of mixture in casserole.

    Bake at 350° for 30 minutes, uncovered.
