Cheddar Cheese Quick Bread

  • 2 1/2 c. sifted flour
  • 1/3 c. butter or margarine
  • 1 1/2 to 2 c. shredded sharp Cheddar cheese
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 1/2 c. milk
  • 5 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp. dill weed
  • 1 1/2 c. uncooked quick or old-fashioned rolled oats

Directions

    Stir together the flour, baking powder and salt.

    Cut in the butter or margarine.

    Stir in the dill weed, cheese and rolled oats.

    Add the milk and eggs.

    Mix just until moistened.

    Pour into greased 5 x 9-inch loaf pan.

    Bake in a 375° preheated oven for 1 hour.

    Cool for 5 minutes in pan.

    Remove from pan and cool for 40 minutes before cutting.
