Cheddar Chicken Divan

  • 1/4 c. margarine or butter
  • 1/4 c. flour
  • 2 c. milk
  • 2 c. shredded sharp Cheddar cheese
  • 2 (10 oz.) pkg. frozen broccoli or asparagus spears, cooked well and drained (may use canned asparagus spears)
  • 3 lb. cooked chicken breast (4 whole breasts)
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • dash of cayenne
  • sliced almonds

Directions

    Make a white sauce with margarine, flour, milk and seasoning. Add cheese; stir until melted.

    Arrange broccoli/asparagus and chicken in 11 1/2 x 8-inch baking dish.

    Top with sauce and sprinkle with almonds.

    Bake at 350° for 35 to 40 minutes.
