- 1/2 lb. sharp cheddar cheese
- 1/4 lb. butter, softened
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 dash red pepper
- 1-1/4 cup White Lily flour, sifted
- 1/2 cup benne seeds, roasted
Directions

1Cream serenely cheddar cheese*, butter, salt and a chef's pinch of red pepper.

2Add flour and knead with gusto.

3Then add benne seeds and knead some more.

4Make five long slender rolls out of the dough.

5Chill the rolls in wax paper for several hours.

6Take out and slice the rolls into skinny nickels and dimes.

7Bake at 350F for 15 minutes.

8Keep in a tin until ready to serve with glasses of sherry cooler.
