- 2 c. all-purpose flour
- 1 Tbsp. baking powder
- 3/4 tsp. salt
- 1/2 c. shredded cheese
- 1/3 c. shortening
- about 3/4 c. milk
Directions

1Sift dry ingredients together 3 times.

2Add shredded cheese. Cut in shortening until well blended.

3Add enough milk to make a soft dough.

4Turn out on a lightly floured board.

5Roll into 1/2-inch thickness.

6Cut with a biscuit cutter or in squares with a knife.

7Place on a baking sheet and bake at 425° (hot oven) for 12 to 15 minutes.

8Makes 12 (2-inch) biscuits.

9Serve immediately. Serves 12.
