- 2 c. sifted self-rising flour
- 1/4 c. shortening
- 3/4 c. milk
- 1 c. (4 oz.) grated sharp Cheddar cheese
- 1/2 tsp. dry mustard
- dash of red pepper
Directions

1Cut shortening into flour until mixture is coarse crumbs.

2Add milk and stir with a fork until dough leaves sides of bowl.

3Turn dough out onto a lightly floured board; knead until smooth.

4Roll to 1/2-inch thickness and cut with a floured 2-inch cutter.

5Bake in a preheated oven at 450° for 10 to 12 minutes.
