- 4 c. flour, sifted
- 1 lb. sharp Cheddar cheese, grated
- 2 tsp. red pepper
- 1 lb. butter or margarine
Directions

1Sift together flour and red pepper.

2Put cheese and margarine through food chopper.

3Gradually work flour into cheese and shortening until smooth, if possible.

4Pinch off pieces and roll into marble size balls.

5Place on ungreased cookie sheet.

6Center each one with a small piece of pecan.

7Press down to anchor the nut.

8Bake in 400° oven for about 9 minutes.

9May be made ahead and frozen.
