- 2 Tbsp. butter or margarine
- 2 Tbsp. flour
- dash of salt
- 1/8 tsp. pepper
- 1 c. milk
- 1/2 c. shredded Cheddar cheese
Directions

1Place butter in 4-cup glass bowl.

2Microwave on High 35 to 45 seconds or until melted.

3Stir in flour, salt and pepper to form smooth paste.

4Gradually whisk in milk until smoothly blended. Microwave on High 4 to 5 minutes or until boiling and thickened, stirring every two minutes to ensure smoothness.

5Stir in cheese (make sure sauce is completely thickened first).

6Stir until melted.

7Makes 1 1/3 cups.
