- 16 slices thin firm white bread
- 1 c. sharp shredded Cheddar cheese
- 1/2 c. butter
- 6 eggs
- 2 c. milk
- 1 tsp. salt
Directions

1Remove crusts; cube bread. Butter a 9 x 13-inch Pyrex dish. Put a layer of bread, then cheese; repeat.

2Melt butter and cool. Beat eggs, milk, salt and cooled butter.

3Pour over bread and cheese.

4Refrigerate overnight.

5Bake at 400° for 45 minutes.
