Ingredients

  • 1 (16 oz.) pkg. lasagna
  • 2 1/2 to 3 lb. ground beef or turkey
  • 1 clove garlic, crushed
  • 3/4 c. onion, chopped
  • 3 (10 1/2 oz.) cans meatless Italian sauce (4 c.)
  • 1/2 lb. kielbasa sausage, sliced thin
  • 1 c. water
  • 2 tsp. salt
  • 2 c. large curd cottage cheese
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 12 oz. Mozzarella cheese, sliced
  • 12 oz. Old English cheese, sliced
  • 1/2 c. Parmesan cheese

Directions

    Cook lasagna according to package directions.

    Cook beef, garlic and onions in large saucepan for 10 minutes.

    Add next 3 ingredients; mix well and let simmer 15 minutes.

    In bowl, combine cottage cheese and eggs.

    Grease a 15 1/2 x 10 1/2 x 2 1/2-inch baking pan.

    Arrange several alternate layers of cooked and drained lasagna, sliced cheese, meat sauce and cottage cheese mixture, beginning with lasagna and ending with meat sauce. Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese.

    Bake at 350° for 45 to 55 minutes.
