Cherry Barbeque Sauce

Ingredients

  • 1 meduim onion
  • 3 cloves garlic
  • 1 Tablespoon chili powder
  • 2 cans of crushed tomatoes
  • 1/2 cup orange juice (juice of about 2 oranges)
  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 1/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 cup frozen sweet cherries

    1. In a meduium saucepan, cook the onion over meduium-high heat until it softens, about 8 minutes. Add the garlic and chili powder and cook for 1 minute more. Add the tomatoes, orange juice, ketchup, brown sugar and cherries and cook for 5 minutes, stirring frequently.

    2. Transfer mixture to a blender or food processor and blend until smooth. Transfer to a plastic container and refridgerate until ready to use or for up to one week.
