  • 2 c. sugar
  • 1 c. margarine
  • 3 eggs
  • 3 c. flour
  • 1 tsp. soda
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 c. buttermilk
  • 1 c. chopped nuts
  • 1 large bottle maraschino cherries (save juice)
  • 1 tsp. vanilla

    Grease and flour tube pan.

    Cream sugar and margarine together.

    Add eggs, one at a time, beating well.

    Add sifted flour, soda and salt gradually with buttermilk.

    Add chopped nuts, cherries and vanilla.

    Bake at 350° for 1 hour and 15 minutes. Cool and frost with icing.
