- 1 package white cake mix
- 2 cans pitted cherries
- 3/4 tsp almond extract
- 2 T cornstarch
- 1 1/2 cups sugar
- 3/4 tsp red food coloring
- 2 T melted butter
Directions

1Prepare a package of white cake mix according to directions. Mix the remaining ingredients together. Preheat frying pan to 260 degrees. Grease pan with unsalted shortening when light goes out. Pour cake batter into frying pan. Spoon cherry mixture on top of cake, distributing cherries evenly. Cover and bake until top is firm. About 30 minutes. Turn off heat. Cut into squares and place on service dishes. Serve warm with ice cream or whipped cream.
