  • 1 broiler-fryer, cut up
  • margarine for browning
  • 1 (21 oz.) can cherry pie filling
  • 1/2 c. dry white wine
  • 1/2 c. orange juice
  • 1/4 c. brown sugar
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. each: allspice, cloves and nutmeg (ground)

Directions

    In skillet brown chicken in margarine for 10 minutes on each side.

    Season with a little salt and pepper.

    Drain off excess margarine.

    Combine pie filling, wine, orange juice, brown sugar, salt and spices.

    Pour over browned chicken.

    Cover and simmer 20 to 25 minutes or until chicken is tender.
